After having just received the best gift set EVER (eat that Laura Mercier) containing lip balm, bath salts and body scrub all homemade by one of my best friends, I am totally inspired by these DIY beauty products:

Homemade Bath Salts

– 1/2 cup epsom salt

– 1/4 cup sea salt

– 1 tablespoon organic olive oil

– 5-10 drops essential oil of your choice

– Some dried lavender leaves, rose petals or herbs

If you would like your salt to have a colour, just add a few drops of food colouring

Just mix it all together and voila!

All natural Lip Balm

– 2 tablespoons beeswax
– 3 tablespoons coconut oil
– 2 tablespoon of almond oil
– 5-10 drops essential oil of your choice
12 small lip balm containers

Melt the wax and oils together in an old tin ‘au bain-marie’ style (let the tin float around in a saucepan full of hot water). Add the essential oil drops at the end. Then poor the balm into the containers and you’ll have some great lip balm within 10 minutes.

– 1/2 cup coconut oil
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1/3 cup fine sea salt
– 2 tablespoons almond oil
– 5-10 drops essential oil of your choice

Melt the coconut oil in an old tin ‘au bain-marie’ style (let the tin float around in a saucepan full of hot water).
Mix the sugar and salt together.
Add the coconut oil, almond oil and essential oil.

That’s it! The presentation will need a bit of creativity but with only a few ingredients you can create the most amazing (AND cheap) gifts.
